Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas cock capable of simplifying a piping structure, and easily and precisely carrying out the connection work of a gas meter, concerning the gas cock for a gas meter which connects a gas lead-in pipe and a gas meter in an insulation state.SOLUTION: To a downstream side connecting portion (10c) of a gas cock body (10), a joint body (11) closely and externally fitted with an insulation member (13) made from elastic material is coupled. A union nut (31) externally fitted on the insulation member (13) is screwed with a male screw portion (34) of a gas inlet portion (30a) of a gas meter connected to the joint body (11) through a packing (5). On an outer peripheral surface of the insulation member (13), holding means (12a) is provided, which freely engages at a predetermined place on an inner peripheral surface of the union nut (31) and can be held in a temporarily fixed state coaxially with the gas inlet portion (30a) while the union nut (31) is pulled up to the gas cock body (10) side.
