To provide a gas collecting section of a compact shaft-type waste gasification melting furnace in a simple structure, which ensures a flow channel cross-section and makes the inner diameter of a shaft section and the diameter of the gas collecting section the same as each other.
In this gas collecting section of the shaft-type waste gasification melting furnace configured by successively and integrally connecting the gas collecting section, the shaft section 1, a bosh section, and a furnace bottom section from an upper section, and drying, gasifying by thermal decomposition, burning and melting the waste charged from a furnace top, an inner cylinder 5 for charging the waste, is projected from the furnace top to the gas collecting section 1, and the projecting length (h) of the inner cylinder 5 for charging the waste is set so that the ratio (S1/S2) of an area (S1) surrounded by the inner cylinder 5 for charging the water, the inner face of the gas collecting section 1, and the top face 10 of the waste accumulated outside the inner cylinder 5 for charging the water, and a shaft cross-sectional area (S2) is 0.1 or more.
