Title:
GAS CONCENTRATION DETECTING APPARATUS FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3778118
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the concentration of NOx in which a NOx detection value of a gas concentration sensor is not affected by the amount of production of ammonia.
SOLUTION: A detection value of a sensor cell 130 immediately before exhaust gases introduced to the concentration sensor 100 turn to a rich atmosphere is held with a period, as a mask period, in which the exhaust gases turn to a lean atmosphere from the rich atmosphere, in other words, a pump cell current Ip changes to the positive (+) side from the negative (-) side after the exhaust gases turn to the rich atmosphere from the lean atmosphere, in other words, the pump cell current Ip changes from [mA] side to the negative (-) side. By this, it is possible to eliminate the effects of the amount of production of ammonia on a detection value of a sensor cell current Is corresponding to the NOx in the gas concentration of the exhaust gases introduced to the gas concentration sensor 100 and accurately detect the concentration of the NOx.
