Abstract:

To provide a gas diffusion electrode material for a fuel cell improving cell characteristics on the high current-density side, and enhancing overall cell characteristics.

The gas diffusion electrode for the fuel cell comprises a carbon fiber sheet and a thin membrane formed on one side of the carbon fiber sheet and mainly comprising a mixture of carbon fine particles and fluorocarbon resin, the thin membrane has a groove connecting both surfaces of the thin membrane, and an occupied area ratio to the thin membrane surface of the groove is set to 3-15%.
