Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a gas diffusion electrode which has both of dry-up resistance and flooding resistance and enables the achievement of a good power generation performance as a gas diffusion electrode; and a manufacturing method and a manufacturing device which enable the mass production of such a gas diffusion electrode with high productivity at a low cost.SOLUTION: A gas diffusion electrode used for a fuel battery comprises a conductive porous base, and a first microporous layer in contact with the conductive porous base and a second microporous layer which are arranged on at least one side of the conductive porous base in turn. The conductive porous base is 150 μm or less in thickness, 80% or more in porosity, 10-100 μm in pore size, and 70° or less in sliding-down angle. The first microporous layer is less than 50 μm in thickness, 70% or more in porosity, and 0.1 to less than 10 μm in pore size. The second microporous layer is 0.1-10 μm in thickness, 40% to less than 70% in porosity, and less than 0.1 μm in pore size. Further, in the gas diffusion electrode, the total thickness of the microporous layers is 10 to less than 60 μm. Also, a method for manufacturing the gas diffusion electrode, and a device for manufacturing the gas diffusion electrode are provided.
