Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a gas dispersible plate equipped in a fluidized bed-type polymerizer for the vapor phase polymerization of olefins and excellent in the action to uniformly disperse the gas flow in the fluidized bed zone.
CONSTITUTION: This gas dispersible plate is equipped in a fluidized bed-type polymerizer for the vapor phase polymerization of olefins and has many gas penetrating holes. In this plate, when the inner radius of the straight drum portion of the polymerizer is defined as 1, the average diameter of each of the holes existing along the outer periphery of this plate 0.7-1.0 apart from the center of the straight drum portion is set larger than that of each of the holes existing along the inner periphery of this plate <0.7 apart from the above center. By such a design, the gas flow in the fluidized bed zone in the polymerizer can be uniformly and stably dispersed, dead zone development is effectively prevented, and polymer adhesion to the wall surface of the polymerizer is also prevented effectively.
