Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent abrasion between a shaft and a bearing and lighten the load torque by breaking the fast sticking of the dynamic pressure occurrence place of a gas thrust bearing at operation start and stop. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric element 11 is fixed to the rear of the thrust bearing fixing member 10 of the gas thrust bearing 10 of a spindle motor. The piezoelectric element 11 is supplied with power until the motor comes to stationary revolution from the stoppage of rotation, and until it comes to rotation stop from stationary revolution, and it is polarized so that the floating by standing waves, travelling waves, or ultrasonic waves may arise, and reduces the contact area and the contact time between the thrust bearing fixing member 10a and the thrust bearing mobile member 10b so as to prevent the abrasion and lighten load torque.
