PURPOSE: To provide a gas dynamic pressure bearing which is used in a rotary support device such as a polygon mirror, by arranging a radial sleeve outside of a radial cylindrical part while supporting the upper end lower parts thereof with slide plates, and by forming dynamic pressure generating grooves in these members.
CONSTITUTION: A coil substrate 21 is attached by means of bolts on the upper surface of a base 20 constituting a motor easing, and an iron core 23 and coils 24 constituting a motor are disposed therein. A main shaft 25 provided at its periphery with a radial cylindrical part 27 having at its outer periphery dynamic pressure generating grooves in a herringbone shape, is secured to the base 20 at the center thereof, and a rotor R is formed at the outer periphery of the radial cylindrical part 27. A ring-like radial sleeve 28 formed at its inner peripheral surface with dynamic pressure generating grooves is rotatably provided. Further, upper and lower slide plates formed on their facing surfaces with spiral dynamic pressure generating grooves 29a, 30a are set on the upper and lower ends of the sleeve 28, and a yoke 31 provided with a ring-like magnet 33a is fixed to the lower part of the sleeve 28.
