Title:
GAS ENGINE EQUIPPED WITH IGNITION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3046165
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To surely ingite combustible mixture composed of fuel gas so as to be burnt when an engine is started at low temperature, and thereby enhance startability.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel gas is fed to an auxiliary combustion chamber 2 with a fuel feed valve 5 released, and a main combustion chamber 1 is communicated with the auxiliary combustion chamber 2 by a communication hole 20 equipped with a control valve 4. A pocket section 40 for releasing the auxiliary combustion chamber 2 is opened to the main combustion chamber 1 through an air passage 30, an air introduction valve 31 is disposed in the air passage 30, and an ignition plug 32 is disposed in the pocket section 40. A controller 29 controls the open/close operations of the air induction valve 31 in response to a detection signal for temperatures lower than a temperature set in advance for the wall temperature of the auxiliary combustion chamber 2 at the time of partial loading and the like, and also controls the ignition plug 32 to be energized so that combustible mixture is ignited so as to be burnt as soon as air comes in the pocket section 40.
