A gas engine 1 wherein fuel gas and air, after being mixed by a mixer 2, are distributed and supplied via a manifold 4 to each cylinder 3 and combustion in each cylinder 3 causes a rotator 9 to rotate, comprises pressure detecting means 11 for detecting pressure inside the manifold 4, rotation speed detecting means 12 for detecting a rotation speed of an output shaft 5 of the gas engine 1, and engine stopping means 17 for stopping operation based on the pressure detected by the pressure detecting means 11 and the rotation speed detected by the rotation speed detecting means 12.
