PURPOSE: To effect a mixed gas-filled packaging of raw meat or fish held on a tray at a high concentration of oxygen wherein, even if the packaging film covering the upper part of the tray come in close contact with the upper surface of the raw meat or fish, the surface in contact with the film of the raw meat or fish will not cause its color change to black-tinged red or brown and the portions in contact with the mixed gas retain a distinctly red color.
CONSTITUTION: In the gas-filled packaging of raw meat or fish held on a tray, the raw meat or fish is packaged with a gas-filled packaging film in such a manner as to hold the upper surface thereof in close contact with the film and this film is given an oxygen permeability of 100-1000cc/m2/day/atm.
