To obtain a composition which is an aging-stable foam and is useful for beauty culture by incorporating an oily phase dispersed in an aqueous phase, a specified amount of air or an inert gas, an amphiphatic polymer, and an anionic surfactant into a physiologically permissible medium.
Air or an inert gas is incorporated in an amount enough to keep the relative density of the composition in the range of 0.2-0.8, preferably in an amount of 40-80 vol.% based on the total amount of the composition. Preferably, the amphiphatic polymer is an arbitrarily modified natural polymer, a free-radical polymer, a polycondensate, or a mixture thereof and is incorporated in an amount of 0.05-15 wt.%, in terms of the amount of an active substance, in the composition. Preferably, the anionic surfactant is an (ether) sulfate (salt) and is contained in an amount of 1-20 wt.% based on the total amount of the composition. If necessary, an emulsifier is also incorporated.
