To provide a technology of improving the preservation property of gas hydrate, and inhibiting the decomposition of the gas hydrate during the transportation and storage of the same.
This gas hydrate having a high self preservation effect, e.g. showing the less amount of decomposition during the transportation and storage of the same is characterized by containing ions obtained by the dissociation of an electrolyte consisting of one or more ions selected from the group consisting of a chlorine ion, fluorine ion, sodium ion, magnesium ion, etc., and/or one or more metal ions selected from the group consisting of zinc, iron and manganese, in a solution as a decomposition inhibitory substance of the gas hydrate 50, and also having the surface which is covered by ice film 52 formed by the decomposition of the gas hydrate.
