To provide a gas insulation opening/closing apparatus capable of opening and closing with a small current even if an opening/closing speed is slow.
There is provided the gas insulation opening/closing apparatus comprising a fixed-side electrode part 1a and a movable-side electrode part 1b disposed in an axial direction of the fixed-side electrode part 1a. The fixed-side electrode part 1a comprises a support insulator 2 having one end fixed to a box body 12, a fixed-side electrode 3 fixed to the other end of the support insulator 2, and provided with a first recessed part 3a in the axial direction, an arc electrode 4 fixed to a bottom surface of the first recessed part 3a, and a first arc-proof electrode 5 fixed to a tip of the arc electrode 4. The movable-side electrode part 1b comprises a movable-side electrode 13 with a second recessed part 13a having an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the first recessed part 3a and an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the arc electrode 4, a second arc-proof electrode 14 fixed to a tip of the movable-side electrode 13, and an insulation rod 15 fixed to the movable-side electrode 13, and coupled to an operation mechanism.
