A gas leak tester has a detector K with a gas sensor that can be inserted into the inside of a hole part 1 for detecting gas being provided on the ground to detect leakage from gas piping 4 being buried underground, and a device body S being separated from the detector K to calculate the gas concentration inside the hole part 1 for detecting gas based on detection information being obtained by the gas sensor. Furthermore, a part for transmitting the detection information being obtained by the gas sensor to the device body S by radio provided in the detector K, and at the same time a part for receiving detection information being sent from the transmitting part is provided in the device body S.
