To provide a gas lighter that allows enough time between the timing of an electric discharge and the timing of the delivery of fuel gas, thereby enhancing ignition timing, and preventing the fuel gas from being delivered more than necessary by the inadvertent pressing of an operating member.

The gas lighter comprises a fuel tank; a fuel delivery device provided on top of the fuel tank for delivering fuel in the fuel tank via a nozzle vertically movably provided at the fuel delivery device; a high voltage generator provided on top of the fuel tank; an operating member installed above the high voltage generator for energizing the high voltage generator when pressed to generate a high voltage and for operating the nozzle of the fuel delivery device to deliver fuel; and an additional elastic member inserted between a pressing member and a high voltage generating means.
