This gas lighter includes: a fuel tank having a fuel gas discharge valve sending fuel gas to a gas discharge nozzle 1; a gas discharge lever opening the fuel gas discharge valve; ignition mechanisms 2-4 igniting fuel gas discharged from the gas discharge nozzle 1 to the upper side of the gas discharge nozzle 1; and operating elements 7, 11 operated by a finger, opening the gas discharge lever and igniting the ignition mechanisms. The gas lighter further includes an addition spring 10 applying repulsion force which is weak at start of the opening operation and the ignition operation but becomes strong along with progress of the operations to the operating element 7, 11, in addition to a return spring 4 repulsive to the opening operation of the gas discharge valve. The return spring 4 is a return spring within a piezoelectric unit 4, and the addition spring 10 comprises a torsion coil spring.
