To provide a gas lighter with a function for preventing an accident such as a fire, a burn injury, etc., due to child's mischief.

The gas lighter includes: a press portion 13 for firing operation provided to the top of a body 12 and freely pressed down; a piezoelectric unit 16 having an inner box 15 and an outer box 14 engaging each other and generating a high voltage; a gas ejection nozzle 18 ejecting gas charged in a gas tank 17; and an operation lever 25 having a halfway portion 21 coming into contact with the inner box 15 to be pressed, and having an end 23 holding a neck portion 24 of the gas ejection nozzle 18 to open and close a valve. The press portion 13 includes a press button lid 26 provided to the top to be freely opened and closed through a hinge portion 28 and having a hook portion 29 for locking at a tip, and a push button portion 27 capable of releasing locking by the hook part 29 as the hook portion 29 and an upper end portion 30 are locked and pressed inward, and when the push button lid 26 is opened with the hook portion 29 and upper end portion 30 released from being locked, the inner box 15 moves up for resetting so that the piezoelectric unit 16 can generate the high voltage.
