A gas-liquid separator and a compression system. An outer cylinder (10), a filter assembly (20), a support (30) and a check valve (40) are provided in the gas-liquid separator, an inlet is provided at an upper part of the outer cylinder (10), and an outlet is provided at a lower part of the outer cylinder (10); the filter assembly (20) is provided in the outer cylinder (10), and the filter assembly (20) has a valve port (21); the support (30) is provided below the filter assembly (20); the check valve (40) is provided on the support (30), at least a part of the structure of the check valve (40) is located below the filter assembly (20), and at least a part of the structure of the check valve (40) is movably provided to open or close the valve port (21); and when a pressure difference between an area above the valve port (21) and an area below the valve port (21) reaches a predetermined value, the valve port (21) is opened to enable unidirectional communication between the inlet and the outlet. The gas-liquid separator is applied to a compression system; when a compressor is shut down, the valve port (21) of the gas-liquid separator is closed, so that gas in the compressor can be prevented from discharging by means of the gas-liquid separator, thereby ensuring the pressure within the compressor, thus increasing the starting speed and reducing the starting time when the compressor is restarted.
