Abstract:

To provide a compact gas-liquid separator configured to improve performance by a surface tension effect.

The gas-liquid separator for separating a gas-liquid two-phase flow into a gas phase and a liquid phase includes a gas-liquid separation mechanism. A narrow space is formed with an inlet partition body provided downstream of an inlet pipe in the gas-liquid two-phase flow. A part of the inlet partition body is substantially in contact with a groove apex of a grooved surface. The gas-liquid two-phase flow is guided to a grooved body through the narrow space. In order to capture liquid droplets carried with the gas phase as much as possible, a secondary flow is utilized in the grooved body with substantial ripples inclined with respect to the flowing direction, the groove is inclined, and the whole cross sectional area of a gas-liquid separation chamber is used for an axial gas-phase upward flow channel, thereby efficiently capturing the liquid droplets carried with the gas phase.
