To provide a gas meter capable of reducing erroneous detection of an earthquake compared to a conventional one.SOLUTION: A gas meter 1 includes: a vibration sensor 101 built in an own device so as to be able to detect vibration; an order information acquisition part 102 for acquiring information which indicates the order of occurrence of vibration to the plurality of gas meters 1 including the own devices provided along a railway line in association with passage of a train; a notification part 104 for, when the vibration sensor 101 has detected the vibration, notifying the gas meter 1 to which the vibration associated with the passage of the train occurs after the other gas meters 1 on the basis of the information acquired by the order information acquisition part 102, of information indicating the detection of the vibration; a notification information acquisition part 105 for acquiring the information which has been told to the gas meter 1 by the notification part 104 so as to have been held by the own device; and an earthquake determination part 106 for determining whether the vibration detected by the vibration sensor 101 is that of an earthquake on the basis of the pieces of the information, which have been acquired by the order information acquisition part 102 and the notification information acquisition part 105.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
