To provide a gas pressure cylinder device and its control method, connectable to an inexpensive and compact actuator, by utilizing resiliency and expansibility of gas by holding internal pressure in operation, while enabling both operations of the contraction and expansion by one system.
This gas pressure cylinder device has a cylinder means 31 having a piston 2 in a cylinder tube 1 and forming two chambers 4 and 5 on both sides of the piston 2 by partitioning the inside of the cylinder tube 1 by the piston 2, and a supply-exhaust means 32 for supplying gas to one chamber 4 and exhausting the gas from the other chamber 5. The supply-exhaust means 32 has exhaust speed controllers 18 and 19 for controlling an exhaust flow rate of the exhausting gas.
