Abstract:
To provide a gas refining apparatus which can supply high-purity hydrogen or the like to extend the life of a fuel cell and a hydrogen storage material.
The gas refining apparatus is equipped with a filter layer comprising an alkali metal hydride and an alkaline earth metal hydride disposed in the passage of a mixture gas comprising hydrogen gas containing ammonia and/or water or further comprising one or more kinds of inert gas such as He, Ne, Ar and N2. The gas refining apparatus comprises a hydrogen storage material precursor containing a metal imide compound which changes into a hydrogen storage material containing both of a metal hydride and a metal amide by the reaction with hydrogen. The metal imide compound is occluded in or to be generated by a storage material which is prepared by synthesizing without the reaction of the metal hydride and the metal amide and storing hydrogen, and the refining apparatus is installed in an apparatus generating the hydrogen gas containing ammonia and/or water.
