Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas purifying apparatus capable of surely and readily evading an undesirable influence by the regenerated reaction heat of an adsorbent in a fixed bed type desulfurizing column.
SOLUTION: In a gas purifying apparatus in which a high-temperature high- pressure reducing gas is introduced to a fixed bed type desulfurizing column, a sulfur compound contained in the high-temperature high pressure reducing gas is adsorbed and removed as a sulfide on an adsorbent packed in the desulfurizing column, the adsorbent after the adsorption is baked in an oxygen- containing regenerating gas to regenerate the gas, the apparatus is equipped with an oxygen concentration control means for controlling an oxygen concentration in the regenerating gas to be introduced into the desulfurizing column so as to maintain the temperature in the desufurizing column during the regeneration reaction within the allowable temperature of the adsorbent. The regenerated reaction gas is brought into contact with a calcium compound-containing slurry to recover gypsum and to give an exhaust gas, which is used as the gas for regenerating the adsorbent in the desulfurizing column.
