PURPOSE: To adjust an area of ignition corresponding to a size of a cookpot and finely adjust a heating power by providing a plurality of divided burners in a substantially entire surface of a top plate for a gas range and an operation unit capable of independently controlling the respective divided burners.

CONSTITUTION: In a substantially entire area of a top plate 3 mounted to an opening 2a of a counter 2 are provided divided burners 4 positioned in forty-two lattices in length and breadth, which lattices are defined by partition plates 3b rising upright from the top plate 3. The respective divided burners 4 are provided with a magnet valve which is operated by an operating unit. Provided on a front surface of a range body 1 is an operating panel 5 which has forty-two touch panels 5a corresponding to the respective divided burners 4. By touching the touch panel or panels 5a of the operating panel 5, the divided burner or burners 4 associated therewith is independently operated for ignition and extinguishing.
