Abstract:

To simplify an analysis process of an air sample by concentrating a selected content by a concentrator trap connected to a sample container via a multiple-way valve and removing undesirable VOSs.

An absorption trap 22 is fluidally connected to one of respective standard canisters and a plurality of sample canisters 12 by control of a central control unit 58 via multiple-way valves A-C. Cooling fluid is fed from a refrigerant source 280 and volatile organic compound(VOCs) is collected from air sample obtained from the canisters 12 under a low temperature state and concentrated. Valves B, C are operated by controlled 58 after the concentration and washing from a washing gas source 248 flows through a trap 22 so as to remove selected undesired VOCs such as moisture and CO2 from the trap 22. The trap 22 is heated during this washing process so that the temperature is raised, carrier gas from a carrier gas source 230 flows through the trap 22 under the high temperature, and selected desired VOCs is desorbed so as to be carried to a gas chromatograph 24 via a gas flow line 236.
