Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas seal device which exhibits excellent seal function even for gas containing liquid or solid state foreign matter.SOLUTION: An inside gas region A and an outside atmospheric region B are sealed via a purge region C between a noncontact mechanical seal 1 and a labyrinth seal 2. The seal 1 seals a purge gas region C and the outside atmospheric region B by supplying seal gas S having a pressure higher than the inside gas region A to between seal edge surfaces 7a, 8a. The seal 2 includes a seal body 25 attachably and detachably fastened to an outer circumferential surface of a sleeve 6, a labyrinth body 26 attachably and detachably attached to a seal case 4, and a purge gas supply passage 27 for supplying purge gas P having a pressure lower than the seal gas S and higher than gas of the inside gas region A to the purge gas region C, and divides and seals the inside gas region A and the purge gas region C on a relative rotation part of both bodies 25, 26. A drain passage 32 is connected with the purge gas region C.
