Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor element having excellent responsiveness and durability and unsubject to poisoning.
SOLUTION: This gas sensor element comprises a solid electrolyte 11 with oxygen ion conductivity; a measured gas side electrode 15 provided at a measured gas side face of the solid electrolyte 11; and a reference gas side electrode 16 provided at a reference gas side face. The measured gas side electrode is covered with a porous electrode protective layer 17 and constituted so that the limiting current density is 0.04 mA/mm2-0.15 mA/mm2 on the basis of the area of the reference gas side electrode.
