Title:
GAS SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3885781
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor allowing stable caulking-fixation, even if caulking type abrasion or a dimensional error of a housing is generated, and being capable of maintaining air-tightness between a measured gas chamber and a reference gas chamber.
SOLUTION: This gas sensor 1 has a cylindrical housing 2, a sensor element 3 for forming the reference gas chamber 30, a measured gas side cover 5 forming the measured gas chamber 50, and a reference gas side cover 6 forming a gas space 60. A cylindrical fixing part 20 of the housing 2 has a cylindrical diameter-contracted part 22 and a cylindrical caulking part 21, and the shape of the cylindrical caulking part 21, before caulking-fixation, comprises a cylindrical tapered part 212 and a cylindrical straight part 211. The cylindrical straight part 211 is brought into contact with a sealing material 4 to be bent and deformed toward the inner circumferential side, and fixes the housing and the sensor element caulkedly thereby.
