Abstract:

PURPOSE: To furnish the gas shielded arc welding method with a simple device where a bead shape and welding workability are excellent and few weld defects such as incomplete penetration and undercuts are caused in horizontal fillet welding at high speed of ≥1m/min welding speed.

CONSTITUTION: A flux-cored band electrode 1 which is formed flatly by rolling after flux is filled in a steel pipe is used. Arrangements are made so that the widthwise direction of the electrode 1 is made to the weld line direction and welding is performed. Arc stability, the bead shape and outward appearance are excellent and the welding speed is also remarkably improved upon the conventional. one-electrode welding method. The high speed equal to the two- electrode and one-pool method can be attained by one electrode with the simple device.
