Title:
GAS-SHIELDED TYPE COMBINED WIRE FOR WELDING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54136543
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase cold notch toughness and cold-cracking resistance, by packing metallic shell with a limited amount of metallic powder contg. principally iron powder, and with a flux contg. a deoxidizer, by adding Te to the flux or to the iron shell, then by drying the combined material at a specific temp.

CONSTITUTION: Metallic powder not less than 20%, composed of mainly iron powder, and a flux contg. deoxidizer are packed into a metallic shell. In addn., to the flux or to the metallic shell or to the both are added one or more of Te, Se, T1 in an amount in a range described below based on the total weight of wire in order to manufacture combined wire, which is dried at a temp. not higher than 300°C. That is: (Te, Se, T1) contained in metallic shell + 1/10)/(Te, Se, T1) contained in flux ≤ 0.15%. Inclusion of Te, Se, T1 in the metallic shell or flux causes to decrease the quantity of diffusin H2 in weld metal and sensitivity to cold cracking.
