Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a gas shielding device without letting a worker enter in piping of a downcomer or a dust remover in a blowing-stop time of a blast furnace, and to reduce labor and to shorten time for installation or removal operations of the gas shielding device.SOLUTION: A gas shielding device 100, which shields piping (a diverging pipe 20) connected to the upstream side of a dust remover for removing dust from blast furnace gas, comprises: a stick member (a diametrically engaging beam 110) engaging across and supported by the piping; an annular periphery member (doughnut-shaped balloon body 170) which is retained by the stick member and upon introduction thereinto of gas and its expansion is brought into close contact with the internal circumference of the piping; a seal film 160 which blocks up a circle aperture of the periphery member and expands with the expansion of the periphery member; and one or more expansion ribs (rib-shaped balloon bodies 180) which are provided to the seal film and upon introduction thereinto of gas and its expansion raise tensile forces in face directions of the seal film.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
