Abstract:
To provide a method for assembling a gas turbine engine 10.
This method includes a step of coupling a first low pressure turbine rotor 106 to a high pressure turbine 100 in a rotatable state, a step of coupling a second low pressure turbine rotor 108 to the first low pressure turbine rotor in a rotatable state, and a step of coupling the second low pressure turbine rotor to a turbine back frame 142 in a rotatable state so that the weight of a high pressure turbine is transmitted to back frame of the turbine. The first low pressure turbine rotor 106 is rotatable in a first rotation direction. The second low pressure turbine rotor 108 is rotatable in a second rotation direction that is opposite to the first rotation direction.
