Abstract:

To provide improved convective cooling design for a transition component assembly.

The transition component assembly 42 includes a transition component 44 with one end connected to a gas turbine combustor, and with the other end connected to the first turbine stage, and a plurality of recessed dimples is formed on an outer circumferential surface in the transition component. An impingement flow sleeve 46 surrounds the transition component 44, and a plenum 54 is formed with respect to the transition component therebetween. A plurality of cooling openings 52 is formed in the impingement sleeve to introduce compressor cooling air into the plenum.
