To provide a gasification furnace equipped with a slag discharge hole heating burner capable of heating in a wide range without clogging a burner injection hole, and a burner capable of performing self-ignition in a pressurized condition during operation of the gasification furnace.
This gasification furnace 11 is provided with a reaction chamber 12 for melting an article to be melted, a slag discharge hole 14 provided on a furnace bottom 13 of the reaction chamber 12, and a starting combustion chamber 15 communicating with the reaction chamber 12 by the slag discharge hole 14. A burner housing part 21 is provided on a wall part of the starting combustion chamber 15. The slag discharge hole heating burner 19 can be housed in the burner housing part 21 during non-operation, and can be moved near the slag discharge hole 14 during operation.
