To properly remove impurities such as char, tar, gas oil, chlorine, dioxins, etc., contained in gas when waste such as waste tire, waste plastic, etc., having a high calorie and a high volatile content is gasified to give high-calorie gas.
Pyrolysis gas formed by a pyrolysis furnace 2 is reacted with oxygen and steam by a reformer 13, heated to ≥1,000°C, tar and gas oil contained in the gas are changed to gas and char by reforming. The reformed gas is introduced into a first gas cooler 14, the gas temperature is cooled to 90-70°C equal to or lower than an adiabatic saturated temperature by water spray or submerged combustion, dust mainly composed of char in the gas, remaining tar and gas oil are caught as a trapped material at the water side, the obtained gas is sent to gas use facilities and used, the trapped material is separated from drainage of the first gas cooler 14, returned to the pyrolysis gas 2, thermally cracked again, gasified or used as the heat source of the pyrolysis furnace 2.
