Title:
GASIFYING METHOD FOR COAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5770188
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve gasifying efficiency, by installing a slag notch, in the center of the bottom of a molten iron bath-gasifying furnace and electromagnets on the outer surface of the furnace and by centrifuging iron bath from slag by electromagnetic induction agitation of molten iron bath to discharge continuously the slag through the slag notch.

CONSTITUTION: Into a molten iron bath furnace 11 covered with steel mantle 13 comprising a nonmagnetic iron plate, pulverized coal and O2 are blown through a lance 3 and steam is blown through a lance 4 to reach the surface of molten iron bath 6 and thus the coal is gasified. If magnets 14 are energized and the molten iron bath 6 is rotated by electromagnetic induction agitation, slag 7 on the bath surface is rotated at an angular speed smaller than that of iron bath 6, the iron bath moving toward a wall surface side in the furnace. On the other hand, the slag 7 gathers in the center of the furnace to be discharged continuously through a central slag, notch 12, and the amount of discharge is controlled by the angular speed of rotary magnetic field. Gas evolving in the furnace if sent through a hood 5 to a gas holder.
