To facilitate reception and attachment of a fluid system gasket and prevent a sealing face from being damaged by assembling a container with a cover which receives gaskets having an integral retainer structure free from contact with one another with a gasket holding tool.
A container 10 includes a tray-like base member 12 and a slidable cover 14, wherein the base member 12 includes a plurality of slots and recessed structures 16 which receive and hold, using a holding tool 18, gaskets 20 having a retainer 28 in vertically arranged positions so that the gaskets 20 are not in contact with one another. The holding tool 18 includes a jaw end portion 76 and a handle portion 78 to be in hold-engagement with a periphery of an annular part of the gasket 20, and is formed to be movable in the slot. When the holding tool 18 is moved to the gasket storage container 10 and the gasket is removed and attached to a pipe joint, the tool is automatically centered with the gasket 20, whereby the gasket can be installed free from contact with human hands.
