In the gasket 1 comprising a rubber-like elastic body attached to an attachment groove 53 provided on one of a member 51 of two members 51 and 52 confronting with each other and tightly brought into contact with the other member 52, gasket side surface parts 1a and 1b are provided with a constricted shape 2 elastically deformed so as to be expanded and absorb the compression load when the compression load is applied and the gasket 1 is elastically deformed in the attachment groove 53. The constriction rate of the constricted shape 2 is set to be 5 to 30%.
