To provide a gate collision sensing system that can sense collision of a gate during automatic opening and closing of the gate accurately and quickly, without needing a large-scale detecting system.SOLUTION: A gate collision sensing system can be applied to a gate driving mechanism Y that automatically opens and closes a gate A arranged on a loading platform T1 of a cargo vehicle T, which is provided with a determining part X1 that determines whether the gate A has collided with an obstacle, by comparing a motor load factor which is equivalent to electric currents of a motor M2 that drives the gate driving mechanism Y with a predetermined motor load factor threshold (a determination reference value), and when the determining part X1 determines that the gate A has collided the obstacle, outputs a collision sensing signal showing the collision.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
