To provide a gate device capable of easily blocking a water channel of a covered conduit by tidal wave.
An inventive gate device 10 includes: a building 20 provided with a penetrated opening 22 continuing to an upper surface opening 14 of a covered conduit 12 on a floor and having a flood opening 24 through which flowing water with a higher water level than the covered conduit 12 enters an indoor, formed in a side wall; a float 30 housed inside the building 20 in a vertically movable manner and vertically moving in the inside of the building in accordance with the water level by flooding of the building 20; a gate 50 connected with the float 30 via a cable body 40, fixed at a position where a water channel is opened inside the covered conduit 12 when taking water in the covered conduit 12, and moved to open/close the water channel interlocking with vertical movement of the float 30.
