To provide a drive device for bidirectional switch which can provide an efficient inverter small in loss, by being able to greatly reduce loss due to a reflux diode.
The drive device for bidirectional switch includes a drive device 19 with a first gate terminal 2, a second gate terminal 3, a drain terminal 4, and a source terminal 5, and drives the first gate terminal 2 and the second gate terminal 3 so as to apply currents in the third mode, according to a timing when a reflux current flows using a bidirectional switch 1 which provides four operation modes by switching on/off the first gate terminal 2 and the second gate terminal 3. Therefore, it can greatly reduce loss due to the reflux diode, thereby a method of driving the bidirectional switch, which can provide an efficient inverter small in loss, is provided.
