To provide a gateway device of high reliability that sets a transport layer connection between a wire terminal and a radio terminal in a form appropriate to an application without changing a packaging of a transport layer of a terminal connected to a wire network and can improve performance of communication for using the transport layer connection.
In a gateway device 900 for performing a trunk connection between a radio network and a wire network, it is decided whether a transport layer connection between the terminals is set by dividing into a transport layer protocol connection for communication with the radio network and the transport layer protocol for communication with the wire network or is passed not by way of the division connection, in accordance with kinds of application known from a transport layer protocol data unit for requesting a set of the transport layer connection between a connection terminal of the radio network and the connection terminal of the wire network.
