To provide a gateway unit which smoothly executes a communication process accompanying user terminal moving on a network.
The gateway unit 26 provided in every domain is combined with an Internet 23 connected to a home agent 25 storing address information corresponding to mobile nodes for showing the correspondence of a home address of each mobile node 33 to a mobile node destination address related with a sub-net at the destination of the mobile node. The gateway unit 26 comprises a means for acquiring mobile node corresponding address information and a mobile control table for controlling the mobile nodes. The mobile node corresponding address information acquiring means requests the home agent 25 to give the mobile node corresponding address information at the present time, forms the mobile control table, based on the acquired mobile node corresponding address information from the home agent 25, and executes the opening/closing of the gate of the gateway unit, based on the formed mobile control table.
