CONSTITUTION: A gathering machine comprises a take-up drum 2, a plurality of supply stations disposed in one row, a gathering transporter 6 having one gathering channel and one endless transporting chain with a plurality of carriers 5 which push printed sheets 1 on the channel, and a bearer 3 disposed between the drums and the channel. The machine also comprises a printed sheet raising unit 8 for receiving the printed sheets separate one by one drawn by the carrier, dropped on the bearer received by the machine transported forward, and for holding the sheets at a predetermined position out of the operating area of the preceding carrier.
