Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of rattling taking place between an axle box and an axle in the gauge changing device of a variable gauge bogie for a rolling stock designed to perform direct running between different gauges.
SOLUTION: The device is so constituted that bearings at both the ends of an axle of a rolling stock are housed in each holding unit 4 having paired projections 5 located over a diametric line in the longitudinal direction, guiding members 9 and 10 or 11 and 12 which guide each projection of the holding units, and allow the axle to be slid in the right and left direction, are provided for the insides of an inner and an outer axle box, and each locking pin 15 is inserted from down below into a space between the narrow gauge position and standard gauge position of each guiding member so as to be locked. In this case, it is so constituted that the guiding members 11 and 12 of the outer axle box 8 are elastically supported by an elastic member 13 such as rubber and the like, a laminated rubber 14 for pressing an axle end face or the end face of the guiding member 11, is mounted to the outer end face of the outer axle box 8, paired links 16 are formed out of paired levers 19 for compressing the laminated rubber 14 when the gauge is changed, and of paired load supporting members 18 for supporting the body of a rolling stock, and they are rotatably supported by the outer end face of the axle box with an axial pin 17, so that the laminated rubber 14 is thereby pressed by each lever 19 in the compression direction when the load supporting members 18 are in operation.
