PURPOSE: To enable the checking of the number of gauzes used even in a mass simply and accurately while computation of an amount of blood attached accurately by folding a magnetic body into a gauze for operation.
CONSTITUTION: A cotton thread is put through a pellet-shaped magnetic body made of ferrite with a size of about 33mm3 having a through hole formed therein to form a gauze for operation with a magnetic body. When the gauze used is thrown into a use managing apparatus, changes in electromotive force induced of a circular detection coil 4 as caused with the approaching or separation of the magnetic body in the gauze is detected with a detecting section 7 and a detection signal thereof is converted into a pulse signal with a waveform shaping section 8 to count the number of pulses with a counter section 9. Electromagnetic type sensors thus arranged are disposed in stages and the correct number of the magnetic bodies, namely, gauzes thrown is judged from output signals therefrom through a erroneous counting prevention circuit 10 to be shown on a display section 11. An amount of bleeding is computed from an output of a weight meter 13.
