Abstract:

To provide a gazing area detecting device which has light processing load and has constant and high processing speed until detection, and to provide a head-mounted information display device.

The gazing area detecting device has: an imaging element (12) that images an eyeball to generate a first eyeball image; an image processing unit (13) that performs image processing on the first eyeball image to generate a second eyeball image; and gazing area detecting sections (14, 15) that detect a gazing area from the second eyeball image, and the gazing area detecting sections perform probability statistic processing on the second eyeball image using probability statistic while maintaining a constant detection period to detect the gazing area. The head-mounted information display device is provided with this gazing area detecting device.
