A gear device 1 is equipped with an enveloping worm 10 and a worm wheel 20 to be meshed with the enveloping worm 10. The radius Rp1 of a pitch circle P1 of a tooth 11 formed on the enveloping worm 10 is larger than the radius Rp2 of a pitch circle P2 of a tooth 21 formed on the worm wheel 20.
