PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear mechanism which achieves downsizing of a gear while inhibiting reduction of the strength of the gear when a torque limiter is formed in a recessed part provided on an end surface of the gear.SOLUTION: A first composite gear 23 of a rotation transmission mechanism 21, which transmits rotations of a motor 11 to a rack 6, includes: a first small-diameter gear 32; a first large-diameter gear 31 coaxially arranged with the first smaller-diameter gear 32 and including a recessed part 72 on an end surface 71 located at the first smaller-diameter gear 32 side; and a torque limiter 33 provided between the first small-diameter gear 32 and the first large-diameter gear 31. The torque limiter 33 includes: inner teeth 77 provided on an annular inner peripheral surface 72b of the recessed part 72; and a torque limiter member 81 including engagement pawls 85 which may engage with the inner teeth 77, the torque limiter member 81 which integrally rotates with the first small-diameter gear 32 in the recessed part 72. The first large-diameter gear 31 is an inclined teeth gear including tooth bottoms 70b inclining relative to a first axis L1. A tooth bottom 77b of each inner tooth 77 extends in parallel with the first axis L1.
